Gov’t adopts strategy for development of vocational training for 2021-2025 period
The Government has adopted a strategy for development of vocational training for the 2021-2030 period, vision to 2045.
Under the strategy, the Government expects to raise the rate of laborers with diploma or certificates to 30 percent over the next five years and 35-40 percent by 2030.
The Government targets to increase access to vocational training to 40-45 percent of graduates of secondary schools, with at least 30 percent of them are female students by 2025.
The rate of laborers with information and communication technology skill is expected to reach 80% by 2025 and 90 percent by 2030.
The Government plans to build up around 70 high quality vocational facilities through 2025.
To achieve the above goals, the Government will improve related institutions and State management of vocational training while stepping up digital transformation, reforming curricula, and upgrading training equipment for various types of vocational training.
Vocational training will be developed in connection with enterprises and labor market, according to the strategy.
About 80 percent of students from vocational schools can find jobs after graduation, said Truong Anh Dung, Director-General of the Directorate of Vocational Training under the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
