Foreign arrivals to Ha Long Bay account for 90%

Ha Long Bay welcomed nearly 30,000 tourist arrivals during 8 days from September 10, 90% of whom were foreign ones, according to Ha Long Bay Management Board.

Major attractions chosen by international tourists consist of Thien Cung grotto, Ga Choi, islet, Dau Go grotto, Ti Top island, Luon grotto, Ba Hang grotto...

Those visitors mainly came from ROK, India, Europe, America, etc. Notably, there was a considerable increase in the number of ROK, Indian and Malaysian visitors. Fall and winter are also the peak time for welcoming foreign visitors to Quang Ninh.

On September 13, some attractions on Ha Long Bay returned to normal operation, welcoming 198 ships carrying about 5,500 visitors to the heritage site.

The tourist routes that meet the requirement for serving tourists include: Route 1 (Thien Cung - Dau Go), Route 2 (Sung Sot, Hang Luon, Ti Top), Route 5 (except Ba Hang).

In addition, some overnight accommodation locations that are als eligible to welcome guests consist of Hon 587 - Nha Lat - Hang Luon, and  the high-speed boat transfer point of Hon Cat Lan. Other attractions in Ha Long Bay have been drastically repaired and are expected to welcome tourists as soon as possible.

Ha Long Bay Management Board on Sunday has coordinated with units to launch the campaign "three days to clean Ha Long Bay" in order to restore environmental sanitation to the heritage site to serve tourism right after typhoon Yagi.

Tourism activities have gradually returned to normal in Ha Long thanks to efforts by the local authorities and residents during a 7-day campaign to address the aftermaths of the typhoon. With the spirit of cooperation and unity, local residents and functional forces have proactively cleaned up the environment and beautified the urban area.

Tourist boats have been maintained and repaired to ensure safety standards for restoring operations as soon as possible.
