First group of 4,500 Indian tourists visits Ha Long Bay
Around 1,400 Indian tourists arrived in Ha Long city this morning to do their tour of the world heritage Ha Long Bay. They are the first group of a large delegation of Indian tourists from Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, the fourth largest pharmaceutical corporation in the world.
Those Indian tourists went on 33 cruise ships to visit Ha Long Bay on route 1 that includes Thien Cung caven Dau Go cave, Cho Da islet, Dinh Huong islet, Ba Hang area, and Trong Mai islet. After finishing the tour, they returned to Hanoi at about 3pm
Tourists together enjoyed lunch on cruise ships, with various traditional Indian dishes prepared and served by Indian chefs working at a restaurant in Ha Long.
Other Indian tourists in the group of 4,500 people are expected to visit Ha Long Bay on August 30-31, September 1-2 and September 6.
India is one of Quang Ninh’s top 10 international tourist markets. Indian billionaires have previously visited the province for sightseeing and organizing wedding receptions.
The provincial Department of Tourism is working with travel agencies on reception plans, arranging transportation, and ensuring service quality for the visitors.
The tourists are employees from Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, the fourth largest pharmaceutical corporation in the world.
The group is divided into small packs traveling for five days in Hanoi, Quang Ninh and Ninh Binh province, from August 27 to September 7.
They do not stay over-night in Quang Ninh and Ninh Binh, but spend all four nights in the capital city organising activities such as conferences, seminars, and gala dinner.
