Quang Ninh secures 3rd place overall at the 2025 National Traditional Swimming Championship for middle-aged and senior athletes

The 27th National Traditional Swimming Championship for middle-aged and senior athletes, hosted by Tay Ninh’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the Vietnam Association of the elderly and the Vietnam Sports Administration.

Quang Ninh team delivered an outstanding performance, securing the third-place flag in the overall team standings at the championship

The Quang Ninh delegation delivered an outstanding performance, bringing home a total of 15 medals including 8 gold and finished 3rd out of 28 participating teams.

This year’s event gathered nearly 200 athletes from 13 provinces and cities nationwide. Represented by a modest team of 10 swimmers competing in breaststroke, freestyle, and backstroke, Quang Ninh still achieved remarkable success thanks to their dedication and skill. The team’s medal tally included 8 gold, 6 silver, and 1 bronze.

Standout performers included Nguyen Thị Son (2 gold), Cao Thi Tuyet (2 gold), Cao Thi Hao (1 gold, 2 silver), and especially Bui Thi Liu, who claimed 3 gold medals.

Other contributions came from Ngo My Hanh and Tran Thi Huong Lan, who earned 4 silvers and 1 bronze. Most of the team’s gold medals were won in breaststroke, backstroke, and freestyle events.

The strong results underscore the perseverance and competitive spirit of Quang Ninh’s athletes, while affirming the success of the province’s senior sports movement.

Beyond competition, the championship served as a meaningful platform for camaraderie and for spreading the message of living joyfully, healthily, and purposefully within the community.
