Tulips are iconic flower of the Netherlands, cherry blossoms represent the Japanese spirit, roses are floral emblem of the United States and lotuses symbolize the strong vitality of the Vietnamese.
As the summer comes, cicadas call, rice fields turn yellow, lotuses are in full bloom. Lotuses can be found all across the northern province of Quang Ninh such as Uong Bi, Dong Trieu, Quang Yen, Mong Cai…However, Dong Trieu might have the largest number of lotuses. Adorned with pink flowers, summer in the land which was a military zone in the past, seems more enchanting and romantic.
