Over the past years, Quang Ninh Province have strictly complied with the Party and Government’s diplomatic policies and guidelines in order to reach the goal of sustainable socio-economic development.
Concerning international cooperation insocio-economic development, Quang Ninh’s authorities take initiative in providing information, encouraging and supporting enterprises get involved in regional and global value chains since Vietnam became WTO member. In addition, provincial functional bodies help them get more understanding of regulations of specific categories of commodity and guidance relating imports and exports in free trade agreements, namely ASEAN Free Trade Area AFTA, Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Economic Co-Operation Between ASEAN and the People's Republic of China, ASEAN-China Free Trade Area ACFTA, which helps exporters enjoy preferential tariffs
In localities which have border gates adjacent to Guangxi Zhoang Autonomous Region, border trade activities have been paid attention to. Besides, Quang Ninh’s representatives have taken part in foreign fairs and exhibitions like ASEAN-China Trade Fair, Vietnam-Chian Border Trade Fair, annual OCOP Fair…, thus expanding cooperation with ASEAN’s members, Japan, South Korea…
Thanks to synchronous measures, total import-export turnover in the 6 months of 2019 reached 896 million USD, an increase of 8.98% over the same period last year
In the past 5 years, Quang Ninh has signed 71 international cooperation agreements with different countries. Most of them are in the fields of tourism, trade, investment and friendship exchange.
