An Appraisal Panel consisting of 21 members as representatives of provincial departments, and sectors on December 13 conducted the evaluation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)which will replace paper medical records at Quang Ninh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.
At the appraisal session, 21 members of the Appraisal Panel voted and reached an unanimous agreement that Quang Ninh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital was eligible to deploy electronic medical records.
Based on the appraisal results, Quang Ninh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital will complete all procedures as prescribed so that EMR would be officially deployed from Jan. 1st, 2020.
The electronic medical records (EMR) system has been piloted at several hospitals including the National Children’s Hospital and the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Ha Tinh General Hospital. It would be applied at all health care facilities across the country by 2020.
Under the draft circular, the electronic medical records (EMR) are a digitalised version of the old paper records and they have the same function as described in the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment.
Electronic medical health records and information sharing within a medical practice naturally reduce handwriting errors, adding that the bad handwriting of many doctors is causing trouble for people who wanted to read records.
