Dong Trieu pupils back to school since Nov. 22
Students in some safe areas in Dong Trieu have come back to school since Nov. 22 when the Covid-19 pandemic was under control.
Specifically, children in 16 out of 21 communes and wards with Covid-19 low or medium risk have been allowed to attend classes at school.
In two Covid-19 high-risk areas including Hong Thai Tay commune and Dong Trieu ward, pupils continue to study online. In the two communes of Hoang Que and Hung Dao, pupils still temporarily stop going to school and learn online due to a new case of Covid-19.
Mao Khe ward is a large and densely populated area, so preschool students still stay at home while primary school pupils study online to ensure safety for them from Covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, secondary high school and high school pupils have already gone back to school as normal. It is expected that primary school and preschool pupils will then go back to school after secondary school and high school pupils resume their in-person schooling.
Schools in Dong Trieu Town have implemented Covid-19 testing for 100% of pupils, teachers and school workers with a total number of 44,389 people. To ensure safety for pupils, classes have been disinfected, antiseptic solutions and electronic thermometers have been made available, and teachers have been trained to handle cases showing Covid-19 symptoms.
Besides, educational institutions in Dong Trieu town also actively coordinating with pupils' families and local authorities to identify F0, F1 and F2 pupils who have ended their treatment or quarantine period to let them resume in-person schooling, ensuring educational quality and school safety.
So far, Dong Trieu has recorded 32 Covid-19 patients who are teachers, school staff and pupils, and 116 F1 cases including 24 teachers and 92 pupils.
99.5% of pupils aged 12 to 18 have been injected with the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine; 99.3% of teachers and school staff received 2 doses.
