After a busy school year, the summer holiday comes and children are able to discover exciting things. With the theme “Green summer gives wings to love”, Dong Trieu District Youth Union is trying to offer a meaningful summer to local children.
Being asked “What do you want to do during summer holiday?”, Tran Thi Bich Huong, a student in class 5A, Mao Khe A Elementary School, said she was excited to learn painting, playing guitar, go swimming everyday, and play with friends at the yard of local cultural house in the evening.
Pham Ngoc Chau, a student in 10A8, Hoang Quoc Viet High School, likes experiencing trips to discover the nature and protect the environment through such activities like collecting rubbish, planting trees, and studying the ecosystem. Besides, she plans to enroll an English class to improve her English skills.
Wraping local children’s need, Dong Trieu District’s Youth Union made a detailed plan for summer activities themed “Green summer gives wings to love”.
According to the plan, a series of activities are going to be held like a Nightingale Singing Contest, Young Computing Competition and English Speaking Contest. A military semester with the participation of 54 children is held to help children master their team skills. Besides, there will be classes of dancing, football, tennis, chess, guitar…
Along with entertainment activities, the Youth Union also organizes classes to help disadvantaged children to review school knowledge, pays gift visits to poor children, taking part in activities paying gratitude to martyrs.
Love will be given wings when children have a joyful summer thanks to family and society’s care, which in turn creates a young generation living with knowledge, love and spirit to rise.
