Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Dang Xuan Phuong inspected the recovery work after typhoon Yagi in Ha Long Bay
On September 10, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee cum Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Ninh province, Dang Xuan Phuong, paid a visit and encouraged the forces on duty to overcome the consequences of storm Yagi (storm No. 3) in Ha Long Bay.
In Quang Ninh’s marine area, 6 waterway vehicles, 1 tourist boat, 18 fishing boats of all types were sunk and drifted due to the impact of the storm. More than 1,000 oyster cages and rafts were lost or swept away. In the area of Ha Long Bay, many vehicles anchoring in the storm shelter broke their anchors and drifted or/and sank.
Under the province's direction, the forces have set up and carried out a storm prevention plan at the highest level, focusing on organizing search and rescue missions at sea. The Border Guard has currently deployed 6 teams which work closely wiht other forces to continue seeking for fishermen and crew members of ships that have lost contact.
Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Dang Xuan Phuong, acknowledged and appreciated the spirit and responsibility of the provincial border guard force and maritime rescue force in overcoming the consequences after the storm. He requested the forces to drastically seek for people who have lost contact, and salvage sunken ships.
He also visited owners of vehicles swept away by Storm No. 3 to Ha Long Bay and encouraged them to overcome difficulties as well as effectively cooperated with relevant units and forces to salvage sunken ships.
Visiting tourism businesses doing recovering work on Titop island, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Dang Xuan Phuong encouraged them to overcome this unexpected problem. He hopes that Ti Top tourist attraction and other destinations in Ha Long Bay will ensure hygienic and safe conditions soon to welcome tourists back.
