After 6 year’s implementation, OCOP has been approved as a focal and effective program in Dam Ha District. The district’s OCOP products have been sought and bought by locals and people in neighboring provinces and cities. Local enterprises, cooperatives, households are getting more aware of building, developing, and improving the quality of OCOP products.
By June, Dam Ha District has had 23 products joined OCOP Program, 8 of which are ranked 3-4 stars. In the first 6 months of this year, 2 more cooperatives, one company, and one household registered to develop 5 new products. The district’s OCOP Steering Board sent officers to help each register with the process, procedures, supporting policies… for them to get better understanding then carry out the program.
Participants in local OCOP program has made certain strides. Instead of waiting for help, cooperatives and households take initiative in making development plans, investing in machinery and workshops… to improve the quantity, quality, and packaging. Dam Ha District’s authority also asks relevant units, people committees at communal level to support cooperatives and households in the process of developing their products, especially in trade promotion, advertisement, and consumption.
From now til the end of the year, the district will classify and rank its local OCOP products 2019, making it as a basis to complete applicationfor provincial ranking. Besides, the district’s authority continues encouraging organizations and individuals to register new products, support producers to expand production, improve the quality of products and package design, thus affirming the brand of OCOP products.
