On June 18th, Ha Long Bay Management Board organized a consultative workshop on "The results of mamangement effectiveness evaluation of Ha Long Bay – A world natural heritage site". This workshop is one of the activities under the project of "Management effectiveness evaluation of Ha Long Bay – The world natural heritage site" sponsored by UNESCO.
Experts and delegates focused on analyzing and evaluating risks and threats to Ha Long Bay – the world natural heritage site. A number of issues have been dicussed, such as: the exploitation of Ha Long bay’s buffer zone, the impacts of climate change, sustainable development, tourism management plans, tourism administration, local people’s responsibilities towards the natural heritage site…
The workshop is a good opportunity for Ha Long Bay Management Board to consult experts, managers, relevant organizations and individuals to complete the heritage protection tools by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources, then finishing the report on the results of manangement effectiveness evaluation of Ha Long Bay and the plan of adjusting the management plan for Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage for period of 2017 - 2021.
