With the aim of promoting tourism potential and implementing province and city’s working theme “Improving the quality and efficiency of services” as well as gradually shifting from “brown” to “green” economic growth, Cam Pha has been making great efforts in carrying out measures to develop tourism into spearhead economic sector.
Cam Pha City is making a plan of developing local tourism for the period of 2020-2030 with a vision beyond 2050, which focuses on upgrading and expanding relic sites and tourist attractions to lure more visitors. Specifically, the city authority expands Cua Ong Temple in Cua Ong Ward, appeals investment in Vung Duc Historical Relic in Cam Dong Ward, upgrades Ca Temple in Cam Dong Ward, works with Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industries Group to expand November 12th Square…
Cam Pha preserves a number of French architectural old buildings. With the purpose of maintaining historical, architectural, and sculpture values of those buildings, Cam Pha City has examined them and conducted evaluations as well as building long-term plans then reported to the Provincial People’s Committee for management and preservation. Thereby, those buildings could be connected to become an area of “Coal Mining in Memory”, a venue for educating young generations about history, while offering a new tourism product.
The city has recently mobilized investment from all sources in tourism. Paradise Island Tourism Joint-stock Company, Tecco Corporation Joint-stock Company, and Dong Do Group signed agreement to implement Cua Ong Eco-Urban and Tourism Service Project with total investment of more than 3 trillion VND.
SunGroup has invested in the first phase of Quang Hanh High-class Mineral Hot Spring Resort Project with estimated capital of 3,5 trillion VND. It is expected to open prior to National Day September 2nd, 2019. Ha Long Cam Pha Coastal Ring Road Project (commenced in August 2019 and expected to open to traffic in 2020) is a driving force, contributing to develop tourism in Cam Pha City.
With its potential to develop spiritual tourism, leisure travel, Cam Pha defines tourism as a green and sustainable spearhead economic sector. The city is determined to be a modern and prosperous industrial urban area with seaport and green tourism.
