After practicing social distance order in line with the Prime Minister’s Directive No.16 in 22 days, almost food, beverage and essential services have been resumed so far to meet people’s demand while strictly following disease prevention and control rules.
Ms Vu Hong Thoa, the owner of Bot Coffee (Bai Chay Ward, Ha Long City) said “As Quang Ninh eases social distancing, we make our coffee shop neater to welcome customers back. However, we limit the number of customers at less than 15 people at the same time of serving. We also provide hand sanitizer gel and ensure food safety. Besides, we encourage customers to take-away or use shipping service.
Mr. Do Minh Chien, the owner of hair salons in Cao Thang Ward, Ha Long City told reporter that hair cut demand after the period of social distancing had increased. He arranges waiting places for customers at his salon to ensure disease prevention and control rules. Customers must wear face masks in the salon. Hand sanitizer gel is also provided. Regular customers can call to make an appointment to avoid gatherings.
At trade centers, supermarkets, and traditional markets, non-essential businesses, for example clothes, footwear, electronics…, have basically resumed. Ms. Pham Lu, Director of Big C Ha Long, said “During the period of temporarily closing to implementing Covid-19 prevention and control, we often sprayed closed stores and public places with disinfectant to avoid the disease spread into the community. 90% of non-essential businesses have been resumed at Big C Ha Long so far. All of them follow Covid-19 prevention and control rules”.
A recent survey shows that despite business difficulties, there is no price hike. Some businesses even offer discount on product and service prices to promote local people’s demand based upon strict implementation of Covid-19 prevention and control.
