Art performance "Ha Long Bay - The world's natural wonder venue"
The art performance "Ha Long Bay - The world's natural wonder venue” was organized by the People's Committee of Ha Long city and Tuan Chau Group at the Tuan Chau International Tourism & Recreation Complex on October 31, 2021.
The outdoor event lasted for 70 minutes, featuring amusing art performances apprasing the beauty of Quang Ninh people and natural landscape, especially the world heritage site Ha Long Bay, and a fashion show of ‘ao dai’ (Vietnamese traditional costume) staged by local women. About 200 artists, singers, actors, actresses gathered at this program.
The event was held to celebrate the 58th founding anniversary of Quang Ninh province, the 10th anniversary of Ha Long Bay being recognized as one of the new 7 natural wonders of the world, and the 91st anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Women's Union.
It is also among various programs included in the province’s tourism stimulus program, and the communication campaign affirming that Ha Long is a "safe, friendly and attractive" destination.
In 2011, Ha Long Bay, literally “descending dragon bay”, surpassed more than 400 destinations from over 200 countries and territories to be named as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World by the organisation New Open World.
The bay was recognised twice by the UNESCO as World Natural Heritage for its landscape and geographical value. It has a 120-km coastline and is approximately 1,553 square kilometres in size, with 1969 isles. The limestone in the bay has gone through 500 million years of formation in different conditions and environments.
