Xa Tac Temple Festival opens in Mong Cai

The opening ceremony of Xa Tac Temple Festival was held this morning at the Xa Tac Temple national historic site.This is a popular destination for spiritual activities and cultural tourism, offering insight into the region’s rich heritage and its importance in national history. 

Xa Tac Temple is located on the banks of the Ka Long River, which is the natural border between Vietnam and China, in Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province. The ancient temple was built to worship the Land Genie and those who originally claimed the area, and now protects local people and blesses them with bumper harvests.

Covering an area of about 20,000 square meters, the temple is built in a traditional Vietnamese architectural style. It features an eight-roof, two-story structure with intricate carvings, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Not only a typical cultural relic, Xa Tac is also an attractive spiritual tourism destination. Through many ups and downs, the temple has been recognised as a national relic, a sacred place affirming the country's sovereignty.

Xa Tac Temple plays a vital role in the spiritual life of local people. Every year, on the 16th day of the first lunar month, the Xa Tac Temple Festival is held to pray for favorable weather, peace, and prosperity.

The festival includes traditional rituals, folk games, and cultural performances, attracting many visitors and strengthening community bonds.
