Work starts on Quang Ninh Lite-On Factory
On March 18, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Quang Ninh Lite-On Factory Project - Phase 1 took place at Song Khoai Industrial Park in Quang Yen town.
Prominent among those at the ceremony were Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Vu Dai Thang and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Cao Tuong Huy.
The Quang Ninh Lite-On Factory Project is invested by Lite-On Technology Group, one of the world's top 10 corporations specializing in the production of electronic components for computers and mobile phones.
The project covers a land area of 30 hectares, with a total investment of US$690 million, focusing on manufacturing computer electronic components, optical devices and instruments, lighting equipment, and communication devices.

The project includes two production plants and one office building, marking a significant step in the group's expansion and high-tech manufacturing development in Vietnam.
The Quang Ninh Lite-On Factory Project is designed to have a total production capacity of nearly 124 million products per year. Its first phase is expected to be completed by November 2025.
The launching of the project also reaffirms Quang Ninh province's consistent policy of reforming administrative procedures, improving the business investment environment, and attracting high-tech, smart, and environmentally friendly industrial projects, thereby promoting sustainable growth in processing and manufacturing industries.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Cao Tuong Huy, highly appreciated Lite-On Technology Group's strategic decision to invest in a factory at Song Khoai Industrial Park, part of the Quang Yen coastal Economic Zone.
“This area is a key economic nucleus and a new growth driver for the western region and the province, planned for development under a “smart city” model, integrating industrial zones, services, urban areas, and modern seaports while serving as a hub for processing, manufacturing, and high-tech industries”, he added.

He also acknowledged and commended the efforts of provincial departments, local authorities, and the Song Khoai Industrial Park infrastructure investor for their coordination and support in facilitating the planning, land allocation, investment procedures, and construction permits.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Cao Tuong Huy asked the investor to focus resources on implementing the project with guaranteed quality and on-schedule completion as committed. He emphasized the importance of close coordination with provincial authorities to strictly comply with legal regulations on planning, land use, investment, construction, environmental protection, and other relevant laws.
Additionally, he called on consulting units and construction contractors to strictly adhere to building standards and regulations, ensuring construction quality, workplace safety, and environmental sanitation throughout the project's execution.
