"Welcome Summer Festival" launched in Mong Cai
The much-awaited festival titled "Welcome Summer Festival" officially kicked off in Mong Cai border city on April 30 part of a series of cultural and tourism events in response to the 47th anniversary of the Reunification Day (April 30), International Labor Day (May 1) and the National Tourism Year.
The festival involves art programs promoting Mong Cai tourism, an Ao Dai show, and a street festival.
Particulary, the program named "Village fair" is taking place at the pedestrian street of Tran Phu ward with at least 20 stalls displaying and introducing indigenous products.
There are also a range of sports and cultural activities such as women football, air volleyball, tug of war, stilts, sack dance, etc.
In April and May, there will be a series of amusing events, namely the 2022 Mong Cai Club Badminton Tournament (from April 15 to April 17), the festival of Thanh Mau Temple (from April 20- 23), Mong Cai Open Golf Tournament 2022 (April 24), Border Myrtle Festival 2022 (May 14-15).
From June to August, tourists to Mong Cai will still have a chance to join interesting activities including the National Open Cycling Tournament associated with the journey to discover the border region of the country, the ceremony to grant the Certificate of National Relic to Po Hen historical relic site, the festival of Binh Ngoc communal house, the contest for the best introducer to Mong Cai and the art program "the Fatherland in the heart".
Such cultural and tourism events aim to attract more travellers to this border city, contributing to recovering and developing Mong Cai tourism and relevant sectors.
Mong Cai is striving to meet the target of welcoming 600,000 guests in 2022.
