The period from October to November when all the border forests are covered with yellow sunshine has long been the season of making vermicelli in Binh Lieu district.

As one of the province’s 12 outstanding OCOP (One Commue One Product) products, Binh Lieu arrowroot vermicelli has currently been sold in most agricultural food shops and big trade centres in Quang Ninh with the price ranging from VND 90,000-120,000 per kilogram.

Each pack is stamped with labels involving information on product origins, nutritional ingredients, and food hygiene and safety standard.

The annual productivity of commercial vermicelli reaches over 300 tons.

Huc Dong commune is home to a large number of San Chi ethnic people. There are about 5 to 6 establishments producing vermicelli noodles. In the vermicelli-making season, San Chi girls in blue dresses often work diligently in the fields to dry the vermicelli, making the highland scenery more poetic.
