Despite numerous challenges, contractors working on the project connecting the Ha Long - Hai Phong Expressway to Dong Trieu city (the riverside road) are making the most of the current favorable weather conditions to push forward. After more than two years of construction, 12 out of 13 bridges in the project have curremtly completed their main structural components.Contractors have focused on constructing the approach roads to the bridges.Uong River bridge, which connects Uong Bi city with Quang Yen town, has faced delays due to complex geological conditions, including interlayered mud and multiple karst cave layers. As a result, the ground treatment process has taken considerable time. So far, bored pile installation has been completed, concrete has been poured for 15 out of 25 piers and abutments, and 30 out of 80 beam segments have been cast. The construction unit has completed nearly 80% of the total workload for the box culverts crossing the road. The interchange connecting to the center of Uong Bi city has taken shape. The contractors have currently focused on treating weak soil at roadbed sections using methods such as soil replacement, surcharge loading, and installing vertical drains.Construction units on-site targes to complete technical clearance of the route by 2025.
