"Tet on the island" program held on Quan Lan island
On the occasion of the forthcoming Tet, on Jan. 20, the Vietnam Coast Guard Command and Quang Ninh province jointly organized the program titled "Tet on the island" in the commune of Quan Lan in Van Don district.
The program included a series of activities such as offering incense at the communal house worshiping King Ly Anh Tong and the temple worshiping General Tran Khanh Du, and offering incense and flowers at the Monument of Heroes and Martyrs.
The delegation also visited the Party Committee and People's Committee of Quan Lan Commune and Quan Lan Border Guard Station (Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard Command), presenting Tet gifts to some families under preferential treatment policies, giving the national flag, Uncle Ho's photo, and first aid bags to fishermen.
The Coast Guard also held exciting and meaningful activities such as making Chung cakes which will be presented to fishermen, giving gifts to 50 under preferential treatment policies and poor fishermen households, donating bicycles to 30 good students living under difficult circumstances and organizing a "0-dong market" to give over 100 gifts to fishermen's families in difficult circumstances. The total amount of money and gifts in this program is nearly 300 million dongs.
