“Soong Co Yellow Season” festival to be launched in Tien Yen

Untitled "Yellow season in the land of Soong Co", the cultural and sports festival of San Chi minority ethnic people is going to be held in Tien Yen district in two days from Oct. 30.

The festival comprises a series of traditional rituals and various cultural and sports activities such as rice harvesting contest, a show of conventional cuisine, a trade fair showcasing local agricultural products, a marathon through yellow terraced fields and so on.

Within the framework of the festival, locals and tourists will have an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the rice harvest season in a large area of yellow terraced fields at some hamlets such as Khe Quang, Khe Lac, Khe Luc, etc., directly see the rituals for praying for a fertile crop, participate in a variety of sports activities and folk games.

The festival is among plenty of events and programs held to stimulate tourism in Quang Ninh province in “new normal” situation and implement the provincial resolution on the construction and development of traditional culture and people.

It also aims to make a significant contribution to preserving and promoting the cultural beauty and long - lasting value of San Chi minority ethinic people in the mountainous district of Tien Yen.
