Sacred flag-raising ceremony on Co To Island on National Day
The island district of Co To in Quang Ninh province held a flag-raising ceremony on April 30 to celebrate the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

A large number of tourists and local people gathered at the relic site dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh on Co To Island, to attend the flag-raising ceremony.
The national flag was hoisted at 6:30 am, proudly flying in the sky of the northeast sea.

Nguyen Tien Thu from Hanoi said, that he attended the flag-raising ceremony at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi and today he was very proud and happy to attend the sacred flag-raising ceremony on Co To Island, the only place where President Ho Chi Minh allowed the installation of his statue while he was alive.

Thu expressed his wish that local people on Co To Island will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, to build a more prosperous island district.
