Russia to donate additional 20 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to Viet Nam
Russian Deputy Minister of Defense Alexey Yurievich Krivoruchko announced that his country will donate additional 20 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to Viet Nam this year.
Krivoruchko, who is in Viet Nam to attend the closing ceremony of the International Army Games 2021, made the announcement at his meeting with Vietnamese Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang in Ha Noi on September 4.
Last March, Russia gifted Viet Nam with 1,000 Sputnik V vaccine doses.
For his part, minister Phan thanked Russia for its vaccine donations, calling on Russia to continue sharing vaccines with Viet Nam as the COVID-19 pandemic remains complicated in the Southeast Asian country.
Pham underscored that Viet Nam always attaches importance to developing the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, regarding Russia as one of the top priorities in its foreign policy.
He spoke highly of the outcomes of the sides’ defense cooperation over the past time, particularly in exchange of high-level delegations, training, technical cooperation and coordination at regional mechanisms and forums.
