Roughly 20,000 tourists visited Mong Cai last weekend
The border city of Mong Cai welcomed nearly 20,000 tourist arrivals during weekends.
Almost all hotels and guesthouses have been fully booked since the Van Don-Mong Cai highway was open to traffic on Septemeber 1. Famous attractions in this city such as Sa Vi cape, Tra Co beach, the central market, Mong Cai border gate, etc. are bustling with visitors.
The four-lane expressway of Van Don-Mong Cai allows vehicles to travel at a maximum speed of 120km/h. The road connects to the 300km Hanoi-Ha Long expressway and 264km Noi Bai-Lao Cai expressway to become the longest route in the country. Travel time between Hanoi and Mong Cai city will be reduced to 3 hours instead of 6 hours.
Mong Cai city is going to organize some attractive cultural and sports events such as a national tennis tournament, swimming and running competitions, and a trade fair of Vietnamese goods. These events are expected to attract the participation of thousands of athletes and numerous tourists.
