Quang Ninh welcomes roughly 660,000 guests during Tet holiday
During the five-day holiday of Lunar New Year (Tet), Quang Ninh greeted about 660,000 tourist arrivals to famous attractions and high-class resorts.
Some spiritual attractions seeing the overwhelm influx of tourists include the Complex of Yen Tu Monuments and Landscapes and Ba Vang pagoda in Uong Bi city (150,000 tourist arrivals), Cam Pha city’s Cua Ong temple (over 56,000 tourist arrivals), Loi Am pagoda, Tran Quoc Nghien temple, Long Tien pagoda in Ha Long city (over 8,500 tourist arrivals), and Quang Yen town’s Bach Dang historical relic site (28,300 tourist arrivals).
The province is home to over 620 historical, cultural and tourist attractions. Of these, there are three special national relics: Ha Long Bay, Yen Tu historical relic in Uong Bi city and Bach Dang historical relic in Quang Yen town. Additionally, the locality houses a number of classic relics that include the royal tombs of Tran Kings, Cua Ong temple, Tra Co communal house, Cai Bau pagoda, Truc Lam Giac Tam Zen monastery and Long Tien pagoda.
Such spiritual tourist areas draw visitors from across the country, especially during spring festivals. It offers them a chance to learn about the culture and beauty of Quang Ninh and its people.
Other cultural and recreational areas, namely Ha Long Bay, Sun World Recreational Park, Quang Ninh museum, etc., have also attracted plenty of tourists.
In 2023, Quang Ninh looks to serve 14 million tourists, including two million foreigners, and earn some VND27 trillion from tourism in 2023.
The province plans to continue taking a range of measures to boost its tourism market, with a focus on projects for restoring the tourism industry, developing sustainable community tourism development and implementing a master plan for marine tourism management in Ha Long Bay, Van Don and Co To.
In order to attract both domestic and foreign tourists, the province has stepped up tourism promotion activities, created new tourism products and services and those with regional linkage, develop a safe tourism programme, and select typical and safe tourism products to introduce to travel and tourism businesses.
