Quang Ninh welcomes about 150,000 guests during 3-day holiday
During the three-day holiday of the Hung Kings' death anniversary (April 9-11), Quang Ninh greeted roughly 150,000 guests who mainly visit famous attractions and high-class resorts.
Some attractions seeing the overwhelm influx of tourists include Ha Long Bay (nearly 24,800 tourist arrivals), Quang Ninh Museum (over 12,000 tourist arrivals), the Complex of Yen Tu Monuments and Landscapes (13,000 tourist arrivals), Cua Ong temple (5,8000), Ba Vang pagoda (18,000), SunWorld Ha Long Complex (20,000), etc.
The number of guests staying overnight reached roughly 29,900.
Notably, ships visiting Ha Long Bay had the occupancy rate of 80-90% during three days. Many overnight cruises were completely filled with passengers.
Various localities across the province, especially those endowed with natural advantages for sea and island tourism such as Co To and Van Don saw an increase in the number of tourists.
Several tourism products newly put into operation have currently yielded encouraging results, creating a driving force for development in the coming time. To illustrate, the system of restaurant ships on Ha Long Bay with large investment scale and high-class service has been highly appreciated by tourists. Booking rate during the 3 days of Hung King's death anniversary was 100%.
Entertainment areas and night tourism products such as Bai Chay walking street or food street at Sun Carnival square have emerged as alluring attractions chosen by many tourists.
High-class tourism products such as 5-star resorts, Ha Long Bay overnight cruises, world-standard golf courses, etc. have contributed to prolonging tourists’ stay and increasing experience for visitors.
In 2022, Quang Ninh's tourism industry strives to lure a total tourist arrivals of over 9.5 million, including over 1.4 million foreign ones.
The total revenue from tourism activities is projected to reach about VND 19,000 billion and the budget revenue from tourism activities is estimated to be over VND 1,700 billion.
As planned, 65 large-scaled events to stimulate tourism will be organised to attract holidaymakers such as the Ha Long Summer Carnival, Ha Long Winter Carnival, Ao Dai Festival, Food festivals, night markets on the water, etc.
In order to attract both domestic and foreign tourists, the province has stepped up tourism promotion activities, created new tourism products and services and those with regional linkage, develop a safe tourism programme, and select typical and safe tourism products to introduce to travel and tourism businesses.
