Quang Ninh welcomed 2.5 million tourist arrivals in 6 months
Roughly 2.5 million tourists visited Quang Ninh province in the first half of this year, equaling to 60% of the data of the same period in 2020, reported the Department of Tourism.
The total revenue from tourism is estimated at VND 5,200 billion, or 61 percent compared to that in the same period last year.
The tourism sector has suffered considerable reductions in tourist arrivals and revenues due to direct and indrect impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In addition to great efforts to retain safety for locals and tourists, the province has undertaken a variety of stimulus measures, especially those related to domestic tourism. Notablly, tourists have paid no admission fees to renowned attractions including Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh Muesum and the complex of Yen Tu monuments and landscape from June 18 to the end of this year.
Quang Ninh authorities also require tourism businesses and tourist sites to have good preparation for welcoming visitors back to attractions in line with safety regulations issued by the province and the Ministry of Health.
Various package tours themed safe holidays have been introduced to tourists in order to meet travel demands in this new situation.
