Quang Ninh student wins silver medal at International Chemistry Olympiad
Trinh Viet Hoang, a 12th-grade student majoring in Chemistry at Ha Long High School for the Gifted has proudly won a Silver Medal at the 2025 Abu Rayhan-Biruni International Chemistry Olympiad.

Organized by the Ministry of Education of Uzbekistan, the Abu Rayhan-Biruni Olympiad has been held biennially since 2023 and is open to students under the age of 18.
This year’s competition, taking place from May 28 to June 4, brought together more than 110 outstanding contestants from 14 countries.
Vietnam selected four students to represent the nation, chosen from the top 32 scorers in the national selection round for the 2025 International Chemistry Olympiad team. After two challenging rounds including one practical and one theoretical, all four Vietnamese participants earned awards. Among them, Trinh Viet Hoang delivered an impressive performance and secured a prestigious Silver Medal.
Earlier in May 2025, Ha Long High School for the Gifted also celebrated another success: Ninh Quang Thang, a 12th-grade student majoring in Informatics, was awarded a Bronze Medal at the 2025 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO).
These achievements reflect the growing strength of Quang Ninh’s education sector, which has received significant attention and investment from the province. With continuous improvements in teaching quality and student performance, Quang Ninh has made its mark on national, regional, and international academic competitions, affirming its position as a rising educational hub in Vietnam.
