Quang Ninh: Ready to welcome students back to school

Under the provincial authorities’ guidelines, students and preschool children across the province will return to school after the Lunar New Year holidayon February 14. All schools are currently coordinating with parents to prepare safe conditions against Covid-19 for students to come back to school.

As planned, during the first week that students come back to school after Tet holiday, educational institutions are supposed to increase the rate of Covid-19 screening, and encourage students' parents to perform quick tests for their children at least 2 times a week. They are also requested to implement synchronous and drastic measures to prevent the pandemic from spreading within school premises.

The Department of Education and Training has also requested educational institutions to develop specific plans to organize online classes for  students who are F0 or F1 cases.

For boarding schools and those offering day-boarding services  need to carefully prepare and ensure the conditions regarding food safety, suitable accommodation and others related to Covid-19 prevention and control.

According to the Department’s statistics, up to now, 99 percent of children of 12-17 years old have received 1 shot of Covid-19 vaccine, 97 percent of those have been given 2 shots. More than 99 percent of teachers and educational staff have been given 1 dose of vaccine against coronavirus, over 98 percent of those have received 2 shots, and over 71 percent has received 3 shots.
