On Sept. 28, the first automatic system to control entrances and exits of people was installed at the Covid-19 checkpoint of Bach Dang Bridge toll station at Quang Yen town as part of the province’s pilot program.

The system is designed to automatically scan people’s QR code.

The system is designed to automatically scan people’s QR codes, meaning that officers at the checkpoint now no longer have to use their personal phones to check these codes as they do before.

When people check the QR code, the camera automatically scans and processes their data information which is then transmitted to the computer. Officers on duty will verify the correctness of the information declared with the travel and identification documents. Using cameras for automatically scanning QR codes seems to be much faster than scanning codes with personal phones.

Quang Yen town plans to synchronize data, operate and test the automatic system on September 29th to control people entering and exiting the gate before putting it into official operation.

The system aims to assist the functional forces in limiting close contact with people, reducing the risk of the disease spread, and reducing the time spent on processing administrative procedures.

The Covid-19 checkpoint Bach Dang bridge toll station is located on the Ha Long - Hai Phong highway which connects Hanoi, Hai Phong, and Quang Ninh. It is estimated that around 3,000 vehicles go through the checkpoint everyday.
