Quang Ninh: Over 18,000 people received the 4th dose of Covid-19 vaccine

On June 8, some cities and districts including Ha Long, Ba Che, Dam Ha, Dong Trieu, Cam Pha and Quang Yen started to administer the 4th dose of Covid-19 vaccine to more than 18,000 residents.

As planned, the fourth shots  are given to eligible residents aged 50 and above, those aged over 18 who are diagnosed to be moderately or severely immunocompromised, or those with high-risk jobs such as healthcare personnel and factory workers.

The fourth vaccination campaign will last until July 31 and it is estimated that about 123,000 inhabitants will receive this jab.

The vaccination process has been undertaken in line with all regulations issued by the Ministry of Health.

So far, Quang Ninh has  safely injected more than 3 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine to people of 12 years old and older. As of January 27, 2022, the coverage of the third dose vaccine in Quang Ninh has reached 97% of people eligible for vaccination; the rate of giving first doses and second doses to both adults and children from 12-18 years old has currently reached over 99.8%.

The vaccination campaign against Covid-19 is of great significance to the protection of people's health during the pandemic, contributing to reducing disease for locals and reducing transmission within the community. This can significantly help localities to bring life back to normal and achieve socio-economic development goals.
