Quang Ninh offers free tickets to Ha Long Bay from June 18
The 1st session of the provincial People’s Council agreed to implement several tourism stimulus measures across the province. Notablly, tourists pay no admission fees to renowned attractions including Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh Mueum and the complex of Yen Tu monuments and landscape.
These tickets are supposed to be waived until the end of this year.
Besides, all local residents and domestic visitors coming to the province through Van Don International Airport have received free tickets to visit Ha Long Bay and Yen Tu tourist site.
This move aims to provide tourist enterprieses with effective support amid Covid-19 pandemic with damaging impacts on this sector.
As reported by the Department of Tourism, the province has greeted 2,5 million tourist arrivals since the beginning of the year, equaling to 60% of the data of the same period in 2020. The total revenue from tourism is estimated at VND 5,250 billion. It is expected that the number of travellers visiting and staying on Ha Long Bay will reach from 1 to 1.1 million visitors in the second half of this year on conditions that the pandemic is under controll.
Previously, as part of the earlier tourism stimulus program, authorities in Quang Ninh province had waived Ha Long Bay entry tickets on holidays and cut these ticket prices by 50 percent during normal days.
After being suspended to prevent Covid-19 spreading, domestic travel and related services within Quang Ninh province have been kick-started again since 12am on June 8 as Quang Ninh has become a safe place after 30 days without new case of Covid-19.
Quang Ninh authorities require tourism businesses and tourist sites to have good preparation for welcoming visitors back to the sites in line with safety regulations issued by the province and the Ministry of Health.
