E-commerce platforms have shown their great support for farmers in consuming agricultural products, especially in the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic. Thank to the popularity of e-commerce, agricultural production households have found various markets, accelerating the business production and operation.

Despite a variety of impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, Dong Trieu town quickly launched Dong Trieu Mart's e-commerce platform (http://dongtrieumart.vn) in August 2021. Organizations and individuals are guided to participate in and sell goods and services on Dong Trieu Mart with tangible benefits.

Dong Trieu Mart's e-commerce platform was initially built to support the consumption of sugar apple growers in Dong Trieu during the Covid-19 pandemic. So far, many OCOP and other typical products such as sticky rice, fresh milk and dairy products, mushrooms, wormwood and cycad products, sugar apple, litchi, pomelo, dragon fruit, jackfruit, etc. have started to be traded on the platform. Especially, some services such as Yen Duc village tourism, ecotourism services, spiritual tourism, etc., and souvenirs have also been on display on Dong Trieu Mart,  Dong Trieu Mart administrator, Than Ngoc Loi, said.

The development of the Dong Trieu e-commerce platform is put forward and expected to have been completed by the end of 2023 with a view to turn this website into an effective trading promotion channel.

In addition, digital transformation is also shown in many areas. Particulary, coal industry units have been gradually innovating and promoting science and technology, deploying the application of mechanization, automation, and computerization. It is expected that by 2025, some mines will achieve a high degree of automation, which can be controlled and monitored remotely at a centralized control room to supervise major production lines anytime and anywhere.

Units and enterprises in the electricity, water, building materials, etc. industries have also intensively applied IT in order to speed up the process of automation in production, contributing to creating products with competitive advantages as well as high-tech products. Typically, Quang Ninh Electricity Company has made full use of line information management software, PMIS equipment; power failure management system and OMS grid reliability; CMIS customer management system, etc.

In the province’s comprehensive digital transformation project, the digital economy is  one of the three main pillars of the province's digital transformation "framework". Particularly, Quang Ninh has identified and analyzed strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges; thereby clearly identifying the promotion of strengths such as e-government, new economic models, etc.

At the same time, potential sectors such as tourism, marine economy, circular economy, enterprise development, digital industry development, e-commerce development, etc. are expected to reap various breakthroughs. This orientation is also completely in line with one of the three strategic breakthroughs identified by Quang Ninh authorities.

With the intensive application of IT into an arrary of economic areas, Quang Ninh has been building pillars of the digital economy, thereby moving quickly and surely on the journey of comprehensive digital transformation.
