Quang Ninh, Hai Phong discuss cooperation in tourism development

A meeting was held in Ha Long city to discuss cooperation in tourism development in the new normal state between Quang Ninh and Hai Phong City. Prominent among those were Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh PPC, Nguyen Thi Hanh, and Vice Chairman of Hai Phong CPC, Le Khac Nam.

The two sides assessed the situation and the coordinating plan to reopen tourism activities and exchange visitors between Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city in accordance with the “new normal” situation.

The two localities also further discussed coordination in completing the dossier of nomination for world natural heritage and collecting entrance fees and accommodation fees on Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Islands after Cat Ba Archipelago is recognized as a World Natural Heritage.

The discussion also included the state management coordination for tourist transport activities from Lan Ha Bay (Hai Phong) to Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh) and from Tuan Chau to Gia Luan. The border areas between Ha Long Bay and Cat Ba islands are expected to be ensured the security and protection of the marine environment. The treatment of medical waste arising from the Covid-19 pandemic in Quang Ninh province was taken into consideration as well.

Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city will continue to review and implement the discussed contents on the strict prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic in the new normal state. Thereby, the tourism in the two localities will jointly create strong and breakthrough developments.

Quang Ninh and Hai Phong have agreed to continue cooperation in tourism development and build regulations on managing the operation of passenger and tourist transport vehicles on Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay. The plans regarding the synchronization on the time of passenger transportation, increase in visiting time, security, and the protection of the marine environment between Ha Long and Cat Ba would be completed soon. Additionally, the two localities will coordinate to complete the nomination dossier for the World Natural Heritage Ha Long - Cat Ba.

Departments and branches of the two localities will continue to coordinate in developing tourist attraction plans through promotion programs and proposing the same price of tickets to Ha Long Bay and Cat Ba Islands after the archipelago is recognized as a World Natural Heritage.

Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city are expected to sign a set of regulations on tourism in October to restart tourism on specific destinations while strictly ensuring disease prevention and control measures.
