Quang Ninh first hosts the start of the 2022 National Cycling Race
The 2022 National Cycling Race, or the 34th Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup 2022, is going to take place from April 5 to April 30. Quang Ninh will host the start of the race in the opening ceremony of the tournament on April 6 and other two stages of the race.
Considered Vietnam’s ‘Tour de France,’ HTV Cup has been held annually since 1989. The race is organized every year to celebrate Vietnam's national reunification achieved on April 30, 1975.
According to organizers, this year’s race attracts together nearly 400 members from 14 racing teams and members. The tournament consists of 23 stages in which Quang Ninh will host the first 3 ones.
The first stage, an individual race held in Ha Long City on April 5, has a length of 4km. The starting point of the tournament is the second stage held on April 6 with a 64-kilometer route from Ha Long to Bai Chay and back to Ha Long, passing through beautiful and scenic routes of Ha Long city such as Tran Quoc Nghien coastal road, Quang Ninh Museum, Bai Chay bridge, etc.
At the 3rd stage on April 7, riders will start from Hon Gai and follow the 133-kilometer route to Cam Pha - Hon Gai - Uong Bi - Hai Phong.
This sports event is among a series of activities and programs aiming to celebrate the 47th anniversary of Vietnam's national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2022), and the 132th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (April 19).
It is expected to significantly contribute to promoting the image of Quang Ninh tourism on a large scale.
