Due to the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, custard apple growers in Dong Trieu town were faced with the risk of a backlog of thousands of tons of this fruit last month. Dong Trieu Town has given priority to custard apple purchasing trucks and offered prioritized logos for Dong Trieu custard apple transportation. Drivers and traders have also taken regular tests for Covid-19. Especially, the local e-commerce platform has been launched at Dong Trieu Mart (http://dongtrieumart.vn) and online sales have been done on social networks as well.

The town has also coordinated with relevant agencies and businesses to support product consumption. Tons of Dong Trieu custard apple have been sold at VinMart / VinMart + supermarkets in Quang Ninh, Hanoi and other northern provinces.

Over 6,100 tons of custard apple, or approximately 90% of local custard apple production, have so far been consumed.

Other localities and departments have also provided farmers and businesses with active support in agro-food consumption admid Covid-19 outbreak. Particularly, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade, the Provincial Farmers' Association, and the People's Committees of various localities across the province to sell over 90,896 tons of agricultural and aquatic products. Additional 41 One Commune One Product (OCOP) products have been sold in big supermarkets.

Along with agricultural consumption in the domestic market, Quang Ninh also pays attention to finding and connecting with foreign markets such as China, Taiwan, Singapore, etc.

The province has promulgated a number of incentive policies to encourage businesses to build up a food supply chain from production, processing to distribution. Prominent among those is the model of Ba Che Seafood Joint Stock Company at Nam Son Industrial Cluster in Ba Che district with a supply chain of seafood connecting farming enterprises to trading ones. The company has signed contracts to purchase shrimp and oysters with many businesses in the province, such as Nhat Long Joint Stock Company, Sao Dai Duong Company Limited, BIM Seafood Joint Stock Company, etc. and 100 farming households in Mong Cai, Dam Ha, Tien Yen and Quang Yen. The purchasing output is about 450-500 tons of seafood/month. At the same time, the company has exchanged and guided farmers on experience in breeding, nurturing and harvesting. This method has effectively promoted the production chain between Ba Che Seafood JSC and other aquaculture enterprises and households.
