Quang Ninh establishes heritage and scenic site management board
On July 1, the Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism officially announced the establishment of the Quang Ninh Heritage and Scenic Site Management Board, along with related personnel decisions.
The board was formed by consolidating the Management Board of the Tran Dynasty historical site, the management board of the Yen Tu Relic and National Forest, and the management board of the Bach Dang Special National Historical Site.
These units have been transferred to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and reorganized according to provincial regulations. The consolidation plan was developed by the department and approved by the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee.
At the ceremony, the department announced the board’s leadership appointments. Mr. Le Tien Dung, former Head of the Yen Tu Relic and National Forest Management Board, was appointed as Head of the newly established board.
Deputy Heads include Mr. Pham Chien Thang (former Head of the Bach Dang Site), Mr. Pham Van Luu (former Deputy Head of the Bach Dang Site), Mr. Le Van Thao (former Deputy Head of the Yen Tu Site), Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong and Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh (former Deputy Heads of the Tran Dynasty Site).
The establishment of the Quang Ninh Heritage and Scenic Site Management Board under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is a key step in the province’s broader effort to streamline administrative structures and implement the new two-tier local government model.
This strategic consolidation enhances coordination in the management, preservation, and promotion of cultural heritage, and strengthens Quang Ninh’s bid to have the Yen Tu Complex recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage site.
