Quang Ninh doctors sent off to Ho Chi Minh city in Covid-19 fight
70 doctors and nurses from Quang Ninh’s hospitals left for the Covid-19 hotspot of Ho Chi Minh city on July 12. Promient at the ceremony was Quang Ninh's Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hanh.
This is the third time Quang Ninh province has sent medical workers to Covid-19 affected localities in support of its combat against Covid-19.
This medical team comprises 70 doctors and nurses working at several hospitals in Quang Ninh including the provincial General Hospital, the Bai Chay Hospital, Quang Ninh Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, the Regional Cam Pha Hospital, and the Uong Bi Vietnam-Sweden Hospital.
These well-qualified medical workers are experienced in solving problems realted to Covid-19 fight. Also, they have been vaccinated and had confirmation of negative testing results.
Speaking at the ceremony, Quang Ninh's Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hanh highly appriciated the strong determination of this third delegation as well as the two previous ones who have been ready to devote their competence and energy to the fight against the serious pandemic. This also reflected our country’s valuable and long-standing tradition of community solidarity.
She encouraged the team to successfully fullfil their tasks and actively contribute to the combat against Covid-19 in Ho Chi Minh city.
The Ministry of Health confirmed 465 new community transmissions this morning, sending the ongoing wave's caseload to 29,103 and the tally of HCMC to over 15,000.
Since the new wave started hitting Vietnam in late April, community infections have been recorded in 58 of Vietnam's 63 cities and provinces.
The nation's biggest city, HCMC, stands top in the number of cases and the authorities have warned of a higher tally for the city in the coming days, given that they have kept detected infections with unknown sources of transmission in the community every day.
