Quang Ninh develops smart and modern urban infrastructure
In the process of socio-economic development of Quang Ninh province, urban planning and development is considered an important task. Quang Ninh is determined to achieve the goal of becoming a centrally-run city by 2030.
In the 2016-2021 period, the province mobilized more than VND 125,000 billion for infrastructure development. Up to now, many important infrastructure projects such as Van Don international airport, Hon Gai international passenger port, Ha Long - Van Don and Ha Long - Hai Phong highways connected to Hanoi - Hai Phong highways... have been completed, contributing to creating a synchronous connection of transport infrastructure in the province and the region, strongly promoting the socio-economic development of the whole region. The merger of Hoanh Bo district into Ha Long city contributes to expanding development space, strengthening linkages, promoting the strengths of each locality in the intra-provincial relationship, in the Red River Delta as well as the Northern key economic region.
Quang Ninh continues to set the goal of building the province to develop quickly and sustainably. Specifically, about the urban system, in the period 2020-2025, the whole province has 13 district-level administrative units with the nucleus of 13 urban areas, including 4 smart cities in 4 cities; In the period 2026-2030, the whole province will have 12 district-level administrative units with 12 urban centers at the core and all meeting the criteria of smart cities which apply technologies in various sectors including health, education, governance, transport, finance-banking and taxation with an aim to provide convenient services to people and businesses.
The biggest goal is to turn Quang Ninh province into a centrally-run city by 2030, a development center of the North, an important pillar in the development triangle of Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh.
Quang Ninh has consistently been working towards the ultimate goal of becoming among Vietnam direct-controlled municipalities by 2030, a developed center of the North, and an important pillar in the Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh development triangle.
Currently, the province has proposed a number of key and key programs and projects, in which focus on three breakthrough stages, including: Developing high-quality human resources, completing the modern infrastructure system, building a culture of Quang Ninh identity associated with rapidly narrowing the gap between rich and poor and regional disparities in the province.
In the short-term period, the province focuses on prioritizing investment and implementing 16 projects and tasks, including: Digital Government Project of Quang Ninh province in the period of 2020-2025 and orientation to 2030; development in science and technology in the province until 2020; the project to build the provincial science and technology enterprise and technology incubation center; supporting provincial innovation startups; deploying the Vietnam Smart Cities Index for the period up to 2025; database system and software for the management of natural resources and environment, online disaster warning in the province; the project on replicating the smart city model in Uong Bi in the 2018-2022 period, in Cam Pha in the 2018-2025 period, in Mong Cai in the 2020-2025 period.
