President Nguyen Xuan Phuc pays homage to martyrs in Quang Ninh
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the War Invalids' and Martyrs' Day (July 27), President Nguyen Xuan Phuc offered flowers and incense in tribute to fallen soldiers at the Ha Long city Martyr Memorial and the statue of Comrade Vu Van Hieu, the first Secretary of the Quang Ninh Coal Mining District Committee on July 26.
Quang Ninh’s leaders attending the ceremony included the provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Xuan Ky, Standing Deputy Secretary Ngo Hoang Ngan, and Deputy Secretary Trinh Thi Minh Thanh.
On the wreath of the delegation, there were the words: "Eternal gratitude to heroes and martyrs”.
In a dignified atmosphere, the delegation expressed their gratitude to the outstanding people of the nation who spared no blood and bones, bravely fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, and for the happiness of the people.
The same day, he paid homage to martyr Vu Van Hieu, the first Secretary of the Quang Ninh Mining Area Special Committee.
He died in Con Dao Prison in April 1942. He was awarded with the title of Hero of People's Armed Forces.
The revolutionary lives of all national heroes and martyrs will forever be a shining example that the people of all ethnic groups in the province Quang Ninh learns and follows.
