Quang Ninh’s Chairman Nguyen Tuong Van presented certificates of merit to Covid-19 checkpoints

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Tuong Van, on August 22 paid a visit to Covid-19 checkpoints in Ha Long city, Uong Bi city, and Dong Trieu town to supervise their operation and give them active encouragement.

Currently, eight checkpoints have been operating all day and night in Ha Long city, Uong Bi City and Dong Trieu town in order to ensure tight controls of people and vehicles entering and going out of the province. All of the control activities have been tightened up considerably after the issue of Document No. 5630/UBND-DL1 dated August 20, 2021 by the Provincial People's Committee on strengthening key measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 pandemic.

During his visits to Covid-19 checkpoints at Ha My Pass, the National Highway No. 279 from Bac Giang to Quang Ninh (Ha Long city), the Provincial Gate (Dong Trieu town), and Da Bac Bridge (Uong Bi city), Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Tuong Van, praised functional forces on duty at some checkpoints for effectively setting up at major entry and exit points in province in an effort to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission, contributing to ensuring a safe and secure Quang Ninh.

That no new cases have been detected in the community for over 50 days reflects great efforts of Quang Ninh authorities, functional forces and people, he said.

He then encouraged all of the forces on duty to overcome difficulties such as temporary living conditions and epidemiological risks to successfully accomplish their assigned tasks, especially in the context of complex evolution of the disease nationwide and worldwide.

The Chairman directed the authorities of Ha Long, Uong Bi and Dong Trieu and relevant sectors to take care of these forces and provide them with active support in order that they are able to effeciently achieve their respective missions.

On this occasion, Mr. Nguyen Tuong Van granted Certificates of Merit to 8 groups and 80 individuals who have had outstanding achievements in performing the task of Covid-19 prevention and control at 8 checkpoints.
