All people returning from Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) shall have to isolate themselves for 14 day at home instead of seven days.

This is the latest regulation issued by the Ministry of Health to help limit COVID-19 spread.

Those people must get tested for COVID-19 three times during their home self-isolation, on the first day, the seventh day and the 13th day.

They are required to monitor their own health for the subsequent 14 days.

Once experiencing symptoms like fever, cough, throat pain, shortness of breath, or loss of sense of taste, they must report themselves to the nearest medical facility for help.

Earlier on July 7, the ministry required that all people who travel to or leave Ho Chi Minh City must show negative SARS-CoV-2 test result issued within the preceding three days.

HCMC, now the nation's biggest coronavirus hotspot, has recorded 14,776 community infection cases, accounting for more than 50 percent of the total domestic cases in Viet Nam since the fourth wave hit Viet Nam in late April.
