Quang Ninh's Party Secretary congratulated the winner of the 21st Road to Olympia Peak
The Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Xuan Ky on November 14 met and congratulated Nguyen Hoang Khanh, a student of Quang Yen town’s Bach Dang High School, on his success at “The Road to Olympia Peak”, the country’s biggest knowledge contest on TV for high-school students.
This meeting was attended by Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Trinh Thi Minh Thanh and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Pham Van Thanh.
Nguyen Hoang Khanh had an excellent performance and triumphed over competitors with a highest point of 315 and become the winner of the 21st Road to Olympia Peak which ended in Hanoi on November 14.
Khanh received a US$40,000 university scholarship. Cash prizes of VND100 million (US$4,400) and VND50 million (US$2,200) are offered to the second and third places.
“The Road to Olympia Peak” began in 1999 as Vietnam’s biggest knowledge contest on TV for high-school students.
The competition includes four parts, “Warm-up”, “Overcoming obstacles”, “Speed-up” and “Finishing”. Participants have chances to win valuable prizes in weekly, monthly and quarterly rounds.
At the meeting, the Party Secretary Nguyen Xuan Ky expressed his pride in Nguyen Hoang Khanh’s impressive achievement. He offered his warm congratulations to the winner, his family, the Bach Dang High School and the provincial education sector.
Nguyen Hoang Khanh’s success has aroused the sense of pride among Quang Ninh people and the province has so far become the only one to have three winners of such competition since its launching in 1999. This also contributes to proving the efficiency of the province’s education policies. Quang Ninh considers the development of education and training, the development of human resources, high-quality human resources, and the fostering of young talents as one of the key tasks to serve the province's sustainable development goals both in the immediate and long term, he said.
On this occasion, the provincial Party Secretary granted the certificate of merit and VND 100 million to the winner of the 21st Road to Olympia Peak, Nguyen Hoang Khanh.
