Industrial workers in Quang Ninh given priority in Covid-19 vaccination

Getting vacinated is considered an ultimate way to protect labourers from the risk of Covid-19, contributing to maintaining effective production in factories and industrial parks. To date, tens of thousands of workers in Quang Ninh has received Covid-19 shots.

Workers employed in industrial parks have been among 16 groups of people in the priority list for Covid-19 vaccination, according to the Decision No. 3355 dated July 8 2021 by the Ministry of Health.

In Quang Ninh, from July 10-20, more than 21,000 workers at four industrial zones of Hai Yen (Mong Cai city), Hai Ha Seaport (Hai Ha district), Dong Mai (Quang Yen town) and Viet Hung (Ha Long city) were administered the first jabs of Covid-19 vaccine. The 2nd jabs are expected to be given after 14 weeks.

Besides, over 2,500 out of 4,130 workers at Viet Hung industrial park received the first dose of Covid-19.

In the next phase of the vaccination program, employees working at some service-based companies will also be involved in the priority list. The first dose has been given from August 1-7 and the second one will be administered from August 22 to September 5 at hospitals and health centers across the province. As many as 47, 850 shots are expected to be delivered in this phase.

From July 31 to August 5, 6,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine were given to those in high-risk occupations such as market traders, taxi drivers, motorbike taxi drivers and porters in Ha Long city.

Vaccination is believed to hold a key role in rapid economic recover in the context of Covid-19 pandemic. It will be beneficial for the factories where thousands of workers are working in close proximity. This vaccination drive will help to fight the virus and ensure the good health of workers which will enhance production, and boost the economy in general.
