The grand ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954-2024) was held solemnly in Dien Bien Phu City, the northwestern province of Dien Bien, on May 7.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh awarded the Independence Order, first class, to the Party Committee, authorities and people of all ethnic groups in Dien Bien Province.
The parade began with helicopter squadrons of the Air Force and Air Defence under the Vietnam People's Army, carrying the Party flag and the national flag, which symbolise the ideals, beliefs, bravery, wisdom, and strength of the great national unity under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh towards creating the Dien Bien Phu Victory.
