Impressive exhibition celebrates 100 years of revolutionary iournalism

With rich content and modern display design, the exhibition titled “100 years of Vietnam’s revolutionary press - The history of journalism in Quang Ninh and the province’s key achievements” became a cultural highlight, drawing around 4,000 visitors in just 10 days.

More than just a commemorative display, the exhibition stirred pride and admiration for the journalism profession, conveying profound messages about the values of integrity, courage, and social responsibility that define Vietnam’s revolutionary press. Over 100 rare documents and artifacts were showcased, from vintage newspapers and cameras to iconic equipment like the French-made 1kW Thomson TV transmitter, symbolizing a historic milestone: Quang Ninh aired its first television broadcast in 1983, becoming the first northern province in Vietnam to do so.

A standout feature of the exhibition was the virtual reality TV studio, offering visitors the chance to act as presenters, interact with modern broadcast graphics, and gain hands-on experience with professional equipment. This engaging and educational space particularly resonated with youth, students, and aspiring journalists.

“The exhibition helped me understand more deeply the development of journalism in Quang Ninh and motivated me to continue pursuing this career with pride and passion", said Pham Trong Than, journalism student at Ha Long University

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for young children to explore the world of journalism and nurture their dreams of one day becoming reporters or media professionals, said Dinh Thi Hang Nga, Director of The cricket’s house creative learning center.

The exhibition also featured moving and powerful photojournalism from different eras, telling behind-the-scenes stories of Quang Ninh reporters, from the battlefield to the newsroom, from print to broadcast to digital platforms.

This meaningful event not only enriched the cultural life of locals and tourists but also affirmed that journalism continues to be a vital force in the ongoing journey of Quang Ninh’s development, innovation, and global integration.
