Health ministry reports 3,578 new COVID-19 cases
The Ministry of Health confirmed 3,578 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday morning, bringing the national caseload to 165,339.
The latest patients comprise 15 imported cases and 3,563 domestic infections in 28 localities, namely HCMC (1,998), Binh Duong (519), Long An (246), Tay Ninh (176), Dong Nai (147), Vinh Long (72), Binh Thuan (72), Da Nang (66), Ben Tre (62), Soc Trang (33), Can Tho (31), Dong Thap (31), An Giang (26), Phu Yen (20), Binh Dinh (18), Dak Lak (11), Dak Nong (8), Nghe An (5), Ha Tinh (4), Kien Giang (3), Bac Lieu (3), Phu Tho (3), Son La (3), Hai Duong (2), Dien Bien (1), Quang Tri (1), Thanh Hoa (1) and Ha Noi (1).
Of the domestic infections, 687 cases were detected in the community.
Among the national patient tally, 163,052 are locally-transmitted cases, of which 161,482 were documented in 62 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence began.
Four out of the above localities have gone 14 days without community infection namely Yen Bai, Quang Ninh, Bac Kan and Thai Binh.
As of late August 2, 6,959,197 vaccine doses were administered, with 712,864 people fully vaccinated.
