Health ministry reports 2,764 new COVID-19 cases
The Ministry of Health confirmed 2,764 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday morning, bringing the national caseload to 109,111.
The latest patients comprise two imported cases and 2,762 locally-transmitted ones in 21 localities: HCMC (1,849), Dong Thap (149), Tay Ninh (144), Dong Nai (119), Binh Duong (87), Vinh Long (73), Tien Giang (63), Ben Tre (60), Ba Ria-Vung Tau (52), An Giang (43), Phu Yen (37), Khanh Hoa (26), Can Tho (17), Dak Lak (11), Kien Giang (11), Hau Giang (7), Ha Noi (4), Binh Dinh (4), Tra Vinh (3), Thua-Thien Hue (2) and Ca Mau (1).
Of the domestic cases, 538 were detected in community, according to the ministry.
Among the national patient tally, 106,908 are domestic infections of which 105,338 were documented in 62 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence began.
Eight out of the above localities have gone 14 days without community infection, namely Yen Bai, Quang Tri, Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien, Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, Bac Kan and Nam Dinh.
On July 26, 109,234 more people were vaccinated, raising the total doses administered in the country to 4,746,642. As many as 423,071 people have been fully vaccinated.
