Harvest season in Quang Yen

The harvest season in the countryside is normaly associated with the images of hard-wordking farmers and a cheeful atmosphere. This season has long been a source of inspiration for artists of folk songs, poetry, music, etc.

These following photos are taken by the photographer Vu Bich Cuong at Yen Hai area in Quang Yen town. 

Gặt tay vẫn là cách thủ công truyền thống.
Hand harvesting is still the traditional method.
Ở những chân ruộng cho phép đưa máy vào
Rice harvester machines are operating in the high fields.
Lúa được các bà, các chị gánh lên bờ.
Bouquets of rice are carried to the bank of the field.
Hoặc vận chuyển bằng thuyền.
.... or transported by boat.
Do địa hình, có gia đình tập kết lúa và bố trí máy tuốt ngay trên thuyền cạnh bờ kênh.
Rice threshing machines are somtimes taken to the bank of the canal.
Niềm vui được mùa.
Farmers are happy with their fruitful harvest season.
Theo ông Vũ Văn Tình, Chủ tịch Hội Nông dân phường Yên Hải, năm nay, năng suất lúa của bà con ước đạt 62,9 tạ/ha.
According to Mr. Vu Van Tinh, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Quang Yen town's Yen Hai ward, this year's rice yield is estimated at 62.9 quintals/ha.
